There are toilet blocks throughout the campsites and arena. We are working hard to improve the standards of the toilets this year. At most toilet blocks, there will be a toilet service attendant based there permanently. If you notice any toilets that need servicing, please let the toilet service attendant know or if you cannot find an attendant please tell the CAT teams in the campsites or the HAT teams in the arena.
Disabled toilets are available at each toilet block in the arena, at each stage viewing platform, in the disabled / guest campsite and in the hospitality area.
The shower tent is situated in the Village and will be increased in size compared to 2007.
Customers must exchange their ticket for a wristband as soon as possible after arriving on site.
The main Wristband Exchange is in the Village near to the Hospital. Ask a member of staff to direct you. There is also a family wristband exchange next to the family arena entrance in between the family campsite and the arena. The wristband exchange for day ticket holders is situated by the day ticket entrance.
Re-admittance to the site is only possible once you have been wristbanded. Entrance to the arena is only possible with a valid wristband, tickets will not be allowed through at this point.
Wristbands removed from the wrist or tampered with will be rendered invalid and will not be replaced.
To avoid any disappointment we advise all ticket holders to leave plenty of time to get their wristband and allow time to walk between the campsites and the stages to avoid missing any of your chosen acts.
We advise all day ticket purchasers to arrive early to avoid missing any of their chosen acts and to leave ample time to get from the entrances to the stages.
Travelling by public transport can save you time and money, is stress free and sociable and is by far the greenest option. Please consider leaving your car at home.

Travelling by coach to the festival is by far the lowest impact way to travel if you are looking to reduce your carbon footprint in association with attending the festival. Train is the next best option in terms of CO2 emissions. If you travel alone to the festival by car, you are emitting approximately six times the amount of CO2 than if you travelled to the festival by bus and three and a half times as much as if you travelled by train. Coming to the festival by coach or train will not only reduce total CO2 emissions, it will also help to reduce congestion in the carparks and on the surrounding roads.
We have joined up with Anglian Bus and National Express to offer you a variety of convenient and good value public transport options. Please note that National Express East Anglia now run the trains into Halesworth and Ipswich formerly run by One Railway.
If you have spare seats, then please consider lift sharing.
Please read this practical safety guide on liftsharing put together by A Greener Festival: http://www.agreenerfestival.com/Lift_Sharing.pdf
Click here for Lift Share website
Train services into the nearest station, Halesworth, are limited in capacity and frequency and festival goers travelling to site on the Thursday afternoon or Friday during the day or back home Monday morning, are advised to travel via Ipswich instead and picking up one of the shuttle buses that we are running from Ipswich.
For further information on rail services or to book tickets call 08456 007245 (National Express East Anglia) or 08457 484950 (National Rail Enquiries) or visit www.nationalexpresseastanglia.com
National Express East Anglia have agreed to honour tickets to and from Halesworth on Ipswich trains if Halesworth trains are too busy.
Special services on the Monday morning from Halesworth to Ipswich at 10.15am and 12.48pm (tbc). You are still advised to travel via Ipswich.
National Express East Anglia have organized 2 special trains that will travel non stop from Halesworth to Ipswich where they will connect with London services leaving Halesworth at 10.05 and 12.45 on the Monday.
Shuttle buses run by Anglian Bus will leave regularly from both Ipswich and Halesworth train stations and will travel straight through the gates into site to the festival bus station.
Using public transport and the shuttle bus is the best way to arrive at Latitude Festival. The shuttle buses run regularly, the operation should be smooth and hassle free and there will be enough shuttle buses to meet the demand.
The shuttle buses will pick you up and drop you off right outside Halesworth and Ipswich railway stations and it is likely that you will not have to queue as long to get on a shuttle bus as you would in a car to get to or leave the car park at peak times. Plus you can make friends on the way, enjoy a drink and feel good about your reduced impact on the environment. The fares for this year's shuttle bus service are being held at the same price as last year to encourage you to use it.
The bus station onsite is via Green Gate 2 on the A145 and is next to the Old Stables. When you arrive at the bus station, follow the signage to the weekend campsite entrance or day ticket holder entrance.
The Old Stables is a large red brick building with a clock tower.
Please note that the capacity of trains into and out of Halesworth is limited and you are advised to pre book your ticket via National Express East Anglia on 0845 600 7245 or visit www.nationalexpresseastanglia.com.
Anglian Coaches will be running a shuttle bus service to and from Halesworth Station to the festival site. A shuttle bus service will meet all trains at Halesworth.

The drop off / pick up point is inside the site via the gates on the A145. This is the only drop off / pick up point onsite.
All Drop offs and pick ups are via Green Gate 1A on the A145. Taxis should all enter the site via Green Gate 1A on the A145. You can enter the site, drop off and exit the site via Green Gate 1 back onto the A145.
For safety reasons, please do not drop passengers off on the main roads, there are no pavements - you can drop them off safely and easily well inside the site. There is no pedestrian entry from the gates on the A12 and the A145 into site so if you are dropping someone off or picking them up, you need to use the drop off / pick up point. Henham Park is between the A12 and A145 north of Blythburgh in Suffolk. From the A12 and from the A145 follow the Festival signs. Please do not stop on the A12 or the A145 but follow the signage straight into the car parks.
There is absolutely no stopping on the A145 and the A12. Tickets will be checked inside the site and not on the gates with the A12 and A145. Please travel straight into site where you will be able drop passengers off and exit back onto the main roads.
If you must bring your car, please consider transporting as many people as possible and travelling at off peak times.
Click here for directions / route map
Consider car sharing
Peak traffic flows arriving onsite are likely during the afternoon of Thursday 17th July and during the morning of Friday 18th July . Most traffic is expected to depart the site late in the evening on Sunday 20th July and before noon on Monday 21st July.
We are working closely with Suffolk Constabulary to develop traffic management plans which aim to ease congestion around the site, to minimise disruption to the road network and to ensure regular road users are affected as little as possible.
The routes to the festival will be well signposted and will be included in written information sent out with all tickets to the festival.
Those travelling from the south on the A12 will be directed straight into site from the A12. Those travelling from the Lowestoft direction on the A12 and day ticket holders will be directed straight into site from the A145 via Middle Barn Lane which connects the A12 and the A145.
Those travelling south on the A145 from the Beccles direction will be directed straight into site from the A145.
Car parking is included in the price of your ticket. There is no parking on any of the roads in the vicinity of the festival site. Tow away vehicles will remove any illegally parked cars.
Once you are onsite, you can check with the Information Tent if you have any travel queries.
If you have to bring your car, then please consider using the lift share scheme. Lift sharing is a great way to reduce traffic to the Festival and to save money, hassle and the planet at the same time. You can ask for a contribution to costs and save some money on your own travel, or maybe don't bring a car at all. It's also another great way to meet new people at the Festival and takes a lot of pressure off the local roads. If you have spare spaces in your car, or you don't really have to use your car then please consider lift-sharing. It definitely must be part of the future of private transport.

Please visit the Latitude Festival Car Share Scheme operated by Liftshare.
Please read this practical safety guide on liftsharing put together by A Greener Festival: http://www.agreenerfestival.com/Lift_Sharing.pdf
Freewheelers Alternative site
Please note that all arrangements which you make are private arrangements between you and other sharers. The Festival does not arrange lift sharing or have any liability to or for lift sharers.
Safety first: Make sure you know the identity of the person or persons you are sharing with. Having a home telephone number is sensible precaution and make sure you leave details of the lift share, the driver and passenger's number(s) and home address if possible with friends and/or family. Take your mobile phone with you. If you are at all uncomfortable with any arrangements, or the condition of the vehicle being used, then make other plans. If a vehicle is not taxed it is possible the driver has no driving licence, no insurance and no MOT. Safety first: trust your instincts and use common sense.

Day ticket holders wishing to travel to site using public transport rather than by car or by lift-sharing are advised to plan their return journey after the main entertainment finishes in advance as there are no train services from local stations at that time.
There is a day ticket holder campsite available for you to stay in so that you are able to use public transport the following morning.
We have created a "day ticket holder campsite" for any day ticket holders who are unable to get home after the main entertainment finishes. There will no charge for this campsite this year. Please note that there is limited capacity and no facilities in this campsite other than a water point and toilets. You will be able to pitch a tent when you arrive. You will only be able to stay in the day ticket holders campsite overnight on the night after your day ticket is valid.
At the end of the entertainment, please return via the gate that you entered the arena through (the day ticket holder entrance / exit) and the day ticket holders campsite is at the top of the hill on your right.
On Saturday morning the first shuttle bus to Halesworth is at 8.55am, on Sunday it is at 10am and on Monday it is at 7am.
The shuttle bus station is near Green Gate 2 next to The Old Stables (large red brick building with clock tower) quite near to the Day Ticket Holders campsite. Please ask a member of staff to direct you.

There is a coach service to London leaving site at 23.30 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
Please see local bus services
If you are planning to catch the last train back on Sunday evening from Halesworth please note that Anglian Coach will not transport more people to Halesworth than the train can accommodate and therefore if the Halesworth huttle is at capacity, additional continigency shuttle buses will run to Ipswich.
The nearest petrol station to Henham Park is on the A12 to the north of the festival site in the direction of Lowestoft. There is a further petrol station 7 miles south on the A12 at Darsham Tel 01728 668228
Please note that neither of these petrol stations are open 24 hours. The nearest 24 hour petrol station is the BP on Norwich Road in Beccles which is about 12 miles away.
The AA and RAC have been alerted to the festival and are aware of the location and routes into the car parks.

Riding your bike to the festival will obviously put out the least amount of CO2 emissions, but that’s not practical for everyone. If you’re looking for motorised transport, travelling by coach to the festival is by far the lowest impact way to travel if you are looking to reduce your carbon footprint in association with attending the festival.
If you have to come by car because the bus and train just won’t work for you, please try and fill up all the seats in your car. As an example, if you are driving an average sized petrol car, having four people in it will bring your impact down to just a bit more than travelling to the festival by train, and just under twice as impactful as travelling by coach. So it really does make a difference if fill up all the seats.
_____________
Figures for these calculations were taken From DEFRA July 2007 Report: Passenger Transport Emissions Factors. http://www.defra.gov.uk/environment/business/envrp/pdf/passenger-transport.pdf
Car Travel (average sized petrol car)
- 335 gram C02 per mile (1 passenger)
- 167.5 grams CO2 per passenger mile (2 passengers)
- 83.75 grams CO2 per passenger mile (4 passengers)
Train Travel (National Rail diesel trains – average passenger numbers per annum)
- 96.32 grams per passenger mile
Coach Travel (Annual average figures of coach types and carriageways)
- 1315.2 grams CO2 per mile
- 32.88 grams CO2 per passenger mile
The campsites will be divided into coloured zones (Yellow, Red, Green and Purple) and each zone will have its own facilities including toilets, water points and fire towers.
Zone Managers will be working 24 hours in each zone and will be based near the Fire Tower. There are also teams of security and Campsite Assistance Teams (CATs) in each zone who are there to help you, so please use them. Inside the arena, Helpful Arena Teams (HATs) will also be around, so ask them if you need to!
As you enter the campsites, if you would prefer to camp in less crowded areas, the gate stewards can advise you where to go. If a campsite zone is full, they will direct you to an alternative campsite. There is plenty of space in the campsites for the capacity attending and so you should be able to find a space which is comfortable for you. Try to note where you camp in relation to a numbered sign or other fixed point or mark your camp with a flag so that you can find your way back to your tent. Say hello to your neighbours to build a community feeling and provide greater security. Look out for each other.
You cannot drive into the campsites at any time due to fire regulations but there will be some wheelbarrows available to help you transport your belongings from the car parks to the campsites. You can also ask the CATs inside the campsites if you need help with something.
Facilities such as showers, food traders cash points, the supermarket, left luggage, lockers, welfare tent and first aid are available in the Village next to the Yellow Campsite.
The CATs are new this year and are volunteers based in the festival campsites. CAT volunteers are there to help you get the most out of the festival 24 hours a day. If you're having trouble putting up your tent, need directions, are concerned about a group or an individuals behaviour, need a UV pen to mark your belongings, would like to complain about a build-up of litter, or let us know about facilities which require attention – please contact a CAT volunteer – they'll do their best to help!
You can contact the CAT volunteers – head towards your nearest fire tower or catch them as they patrol around.
If you're interested in volunteering to be a CAT please visit:
www.DCSiteServices.com/CATs/
Or email CATs@DCSiteServices.com
Family Camping is only open to those that have 16 or unders present.
Children aged 13, 14, 15 or 16 who want to camp in Family Camping will need Full weekend Family camping tickets [£130].
Those with their families that do not wish to stay in the Family Campsite, you will only need the Standard Weekend Camping Ticket.
If booking tickets for you and children under the age of 13 (age 12 and under), you must select WEEKEND TICKET (FAMILY CAMPING), then choose the number of adults attending (£130 each) AND the number of children under 13 attending (free).
This ensures you will be sent both your Adult Family Camping tickets and Free Children's tickets when they are posted out. Although the Childs ticket is free you must book their places when purchasing your Adult ticket.
If you are planning to bring a Campervan please ensure that once you have chosen your tickets you then book your Campervan pass for the correct area (Family or General).

Family camping will have its own toilets, an organised campfire space, and water point as well as the Little Latitude Tuck Shop selling essential items for you as well as a food trader.
Early morning activities will be provided for children to keep them entertained before the main entertainment starts in the arena. Breakfast foods will be available inside the family campsite. You are also of course able to visit the Village for further options.
Family camping doesn't have its own car park but there will be wheelbarrows available to use to transport your things from the car to the campsite. Ask traffic marshalls to direct you to Green Car Park 1 or Green Car Park 2 to be as close as possible to the entrance to Family Camping. You cannot drive any vehicle, into family camping due to fire restrictions.
Family Camping has its own arena entrance ensuring that the walk from the campsite to the arena is as short as we can make it for you. Please note though, that this route will not take you past the Village where facilities such as showers, cash points, the supermarket, left luggage, lockers, welfare tent, and the hospital are located. To reach the Village from Family camping, there is a short walk (around 10 minutes) along the fire lane through Yellow Camp C. Please ask the CATs to direct you if you need any help finding it.
Although the permanent Hospital is in the village, there are mobile first aid patrols who can come to you should you need help in family camping. If you need any assistance, don’t hesitate to ask any member of staff and they will contact the medics.
No fires including small campfires are allowed in Family Camping.
Families wishing to bring their campervans into the family campervan area will need to have registered their children and their desire to camp in the family campsite by buying a family campervan ticket priced at £10 which will need to displayed in your vehicle window so that we can direct you to the right place onsite once you arrive

Voted 'BEST PLACE TO CAMP' at Glastonbury by the NME.
Set up in a bespoke village area (with security and private facilities/services) the ‘podpads’ offer that touch of luxury and style whilst at the same time taking away all the hassles of carrying, erecting and breaking down your camp when you’re there. Your ‘podpad’ is already built and furnished for your arrival and when you leave, just return the keys and drive away. It is the future of alternative accommodation for the discerning Festival-goer
Your ‘podpad’ comes decorated and a groundsheet, a fitted carpet, shelving, interior strip-light and additional 12v power socket on request, a vanity mirror and a lock on the front door. Single, double or twin beds (with airbeds) are standard for increased comfort, with useful storage space underneath. Three sliding tinted windows with curtains provide for ventilation and light, allowing you to look out whilst restricting vision in.
Eco-friendly, the ‘podpads’’ are solar-powered by the fabulous iconic sunflower solar panels.
‘Podpads’ are weatherproof, relatively soundproof, secure, safe and cosy.

This year we have teamed up with Lockerhouse to make sure you can keep your belongings safe at Latitude Festival. You get to keep a souvenir branded padlock after the event too! Book now, and be sure to keep your stuff safe all weekend. The lockers also have mobile phone charging facilities, which require you to bring a 12v Car adapters/charger. They are available in the Village 24 hours.
IMPORTANT! - PLEASE NOTE: the locker sizes are 25cm wide x 15.5cm deep x 10cm high - so they are the right size for small valuables (mobiles, wallets, cameras). The Locker is used at Hirers own Risk
Lockers are only available to Weekend Camping ticket holders.

The Information Tent is open until 1am each day and is located in the Village Area inside the same tent as Left Luggage. The Information Tent handles a large variety of queries from festival goers, runs a message board and feedback book and has details of all local transport services etc. The latest information on the running order is also available at the Information Tent.
Information is also available from your Zone Manager in your campsite (based by the Fire Towers) or from Campsite Assistance Teams (CATs) or Helpful Arena Teams (HATs). There are also large information boards around the site which will include a site map, and any details on running order changes.
Festivals are full of young, fun loving and like-minded people but beware they are also an easy patch for career criminals and opportunists who know how festival goers tick, and the Latitude Festival is sadly no exception and so please read through the advice below and plan ahead for the event. Remember that it is impossible to make a tent secure. You can however make it difficult for a thief. Be vigilant and beware of thieves.
Festival Republic, Latitude Festival organisers, and Suffolk Constabulary have teamed up together to provide information to festival goers that may help those who will be attending the Latitude Festival this year.
We are all keen to ensure that the festival goers do what they can to prevent themselves and their new festival neighbours from becoming a victim of crime and we have compiled the following festival savvy tips for you:
o Quite simply – please DON’T BRING THEM! Ipods, MP3 players etc - you don’t need them here – there is enough going on for you to be entertained without them.
o If you have to bring valuables please use the lockers provided by Lockerhouse in the Village [The Locker is used at Hirers own Risk] - open 24hours, but only available to Weekend Ticket holders or the left luggage facility both found in the Village rather then store them in your tent. It is impossible to make a tent secure. Postcode your belongings – UV pens will be available from the Campsite Assistance teams.
o Don’t leave valuables in your tent. Remember that tents are very vulnerable, even zipped up.
o Split your cash and cards into two hoards so that if one lot goes – you have back up
o Don’t carry more money than you need on you – there are cash machines operating 24 hours in the Village and in the arena (during opening hours). There will be a small transaction charge. The Supermarket will also have a cash back facility.
o If you can’t store them in a locker (buy here) keep your valuables in different places under your pillow or zipped up in a pocket well inside your tent while you sleep rather than by the tent door
o Don’t carry anything in back pockets – especially at the stages, pockets with zips are better.
o Don’t leave anything valuable in your car – maybe go and check on your car during the show? Leave your glove compartment empty and also open.
o If you have any concerns about your safety in the campsites, camp somewhere well lit, go near a fire tower or on the edge of an emergency access lane.
o Introduce yourself to campsite staff, show them where your tent is, stick a funny flag on it so it’s easy for them to see, and ask them to keep an eye out. They will.
o Introduce yourself to your neighbours and set up a neighbourhood watch system, it may sound naff but experience shows that the best and friendliest campsites are the ones with people in that make the effort to do so. More friends to party with too.
o Report anything or anyone suspicious to campsite staff – you can do this anonymously if you wish and that is what the staff are there for.
o Don’t put a padlock on your tent as this screams “I have something worth stealing in here”
o Don’t bury your valuables by your tent as someone is bound to be watching.
o Only bring the bank cards and keys that you need with you in case they get lost. Make a note of your bank card numbers and leave it at home to make cancellation easier if they get lost.
o Remember, by comparision with many day to day environments, the Latitude site is a very safe and friendly place. We have employed staff to be there for you. Be sure to help them to do what they are there for, to make this a safe and happy, crime free festival.
Make sure your mobile is charged up on a daily basis - in the early afternoon - so that it is ok for the night when it’s dark, the stages get busy and you are more likely to lose each other. Orange will have a transmitter onsite to improve the signal. There are phone recharging points inside the lockers provided by Lockerhouse (these require 12v car adapters/chargers [The Locker is used at Hirers own Risk]) in the Village and a trader onsite should be selling battery operated phone chargers if you need them. Ask at the information tent in the Village for exact locations of the trader.
Keep your phone well hidden – how annoying would it be to lose all your contacts?
Stay in groups and be tolerant of friends slowing you down.
Arrange an easy meeting point with your mates before you get to the event. No one likes to be left to have fun on their own for long.
Security staff will be patrolling in the campsites 24 hours throughout the festival. They are there to help but are also watching for suspicious behaviour. There is also CCTV that is monitored by Security Control as well as theft spotters on the Fire Towers. We will do all that we can to prevent thieves from operating onsite, but remember that tents are impossible to secure and either don’t bring any valuables or use the lockers (buy here) or Left Luggage tent to store them and look out for each other.
If you do become a victim of crime – DO NO RESIST– give them what they want and make sure you get a good look at them or their clothes, so that when you report them we have a good head start. Also, make a note of exactly where you are if you can – look out for loos, fire towers, unusual tents, what colour the bunting is and what the road name is etc
The Welfare tent is there for you in the Village, as is the onsite police surgery daily in the morning in the Left Luggage Tent in the Village. These facilities are there to help you if you need it.
If you have an incident with a security guard, steward or any other member of our staff that you want to tell us about – please make a note of their tabard number, or the name on their pass. Without this information we can do very little as identifying them without this number or name is very difficult. You can make a complaint via the Information Tent or through your Zone Manager and this will be passed straight on to the organisers onsite. Information coming in live helps us do something about it at the time, so please let us know about any problems as they happen, if they happen, which we hope they won’t.
Please don’t be alarmed by our advice – just be forewarned that it does happen to some people and we don’t want it to be you. Plan ahead.
Oh, and have the most memorable festival of your life for all the right reasons!
If you are unfortunate enough to be the victim of crime, report it to Suffolk Constabulary either at their daily surgeries in the Village Area (inside the Left Luggage Tent) or by telephone to 01473 613500. You can also report crimes via crime reporting forms at the Welfare Tent. These forms will then be passed on to Suffolk Constabulary.
If you see a crime taking place, alert the nearest member of staff immediately.
If you are reporting the theft of a mobile phone, you will be required to first contact your network provider and have the handset blocked. This will ensure that its use will be blocked across all UK networks even if the SIM card is changed, and will render it useless to the thief. A list of contact numbers for UK network providers will be available at the Information Tent and at the Welfare Tent.
It is always worth checking at the Left Luggage Tent which runs the onsite Lost Property service first in case you have lost your item, rather than had it stolen or in case it has been handed in.
The HATS are also new this year in response to some feedback from you last year that you couldn’t find someone to talk to in the arena. They are based in the arena throughout the hours that the arena is open – head towards your nearest toilet block or catch them as they patrol around. If you have any questions, need any help with something, are concerned about a group or an individuals behaviour, would like to complain about a build up of litter or let us know about any facilities which require attention – please contact a HAT volunteer – they’ll do their best to help.
NO FIRES ARE ALLOWED IN THE ARENA, IN THE CAR PARKS, IN FAMILY CAMPING OR IN THE CAMPERVAN FIELDS.
THE ONLY FIRES ALLOWED ONSITE ARE SMALL CAMPFIRES IN THE CAMPSITES LESS THAN A PACE WIDE AND LESS THAN KNEE HEIGHT THAT ARE NOT CAUSING ANY DANGER OR DAMAGE AND ARE NOT BLOCKING ANY EMERGENCY ACCESS LANES.
There will also be an organised campfire space in Family Camping.
Candles are plain dangerous and useless in a field, use torches in and around tents. Light fires considerately – away from tents. Only use the wood supplied from the fire wood trader in the Village– never from hedges and trees.
Watch out for flying embers and sparks, as they could start a fire, even from some distance.
Don't burn plastic or any other toxic materials.
Never use petrol or paraffin to start or revive a fire.
If you cook, do it outside. Always change camping gas cylinders outside tents - even if it is raining.
When changing gas cylinders, ensure gas tap is in the 'off' position, otherwise the gas will ignite when the cylinder is pierced and you could get badly burned, do not smoke when changing gas cylinders.
No fireworks are allowed onsite. Any fireworks that are found will be confiscated.
Security, campsite assistance teams and helpful areas teams look out for fires, accidents and risky situations and are there to help you, so please use them.
Should you discover a fire, raise the alarm, check out people nearby are OK, and tell your nearest member of security, campsite assistance teams about the problem IMMEDIATELY. In the unlikely event that you cannot find a member of staff nearby, then please dial 999.
They will call the onsite Fire Safety Team.
You may discover a fire in its very early stages and think that you can deal with it yourself. The first thing that you should remember is that fire spreads very quickly. Even a small contained fire can quickly spread, producing smoke and fumes which can kill in seconds. If you are in any doubt do not tackle the fire, no matter how small. You can put yourself at risk by fighting the fire. If in doubt, get out, get the onsite Fire Safety Team out, stay out. Many people put out small fires quite safely. However, some people die or are injured by tackling fires which are beyond their capabilities. Here is a simple fire code to help you decide whether to put out or get out -
o Only tackle a fire in its very early stages
o Always put your own and other peoples safety first
o Make sure you can escape if you need to and never let a fire block your exit
Fire extinguishers are only for fighting a fire in its very early stages.
o Never tackle a fire if it is starting to spread or has spread to other items nearby
o Around 70% of fire deaths are caused by people being overcome by smoke and fumes.
